2021.12.03 01:39 sirlurksalotaken Vaccination for my kid
NT parent here and I just gotta say.... Getting my child vaccinated, just the scheduled stuff not covid, has got to be one of the hardest things.
Really it's just a few moments of heart shattering misery.... But it leaves us both in tears. God, the nurse hugged me too... I almost got a lollipop (joke)
Anyway, I hope to eventually get to the point where logically we can work through it.
He realized at the end of the day, long after he had forgotten it, there was no "boo boo"
But still, the terror he experienced the whole visit and the shots was traumatizing.
I'm thinking of getting some doctor stuff and roll playing it so that next visit he will maybe be more comfortable... But I'm not sure making a game of it is the right thing.
He's 5 years old BTW. So won't have another visit for another year, but will probably get his covid vax if my wife can agree with me to get it.

2021.12.03 01:39 ZanderTheOperator Should I start a new game on survival or finish my first playthrough?
I downloaded Days Gone for free from the playstation store a while back and just got to playing it. I love the game, I had to put Dying Light aside for a while. I am at Iron Mike's camp and just fought the breaker during the ripper mission.
Here is my question, I am playing it on normal as I usually do for new games. However, once I got to this point I find it isn't much of a challenge and I am tempted to start a new game on survival difficulty. I have the SMP9 and a decent bike loadout. I think the HUD and the mission waypoints on the mini map are a bit of a crutch.
I feel like I want to start a new game on survival difficulty but I have already put in some time on this playthrough. The question is if I should just finish this then start another playthrough or start fresh before I get too far into the game??

2021.12.03 01:39 Draggonracer Big question that’s been bothering me for years
Does any one know definitively if the exotic dunemarchers legs are human made or cabal made? The lore tabs would suggest cabal yet they’re quite clearly human tailored so I’m stumped

Taking a trip next weekend, and I only live a few hours away, so I’ll likely come home with a fish or two. I was just wondering if anyone here had some favorite spots in LA?

A manager in my Yahoo league dropped Tony Jones Jr *after * the game had started, and was in their starting lineup. TJJ was inactive from a coach’s decision. Did they somehow cheat the system or is this a legal roster move?

2021.12.03 01:39 Runningwithtoast Can I use a different tank for the Aqua Fizz?
I’ve wanted to get a Soda Stream for years and finally just got an AquaFizz. I’ve looked at several setups using large C02 tanks with Soda Streams, but can’t find much specifically about the AquaFizz. Most mods seem to feature other models. The main draw for me with the AquaFizz is the glass carafe.
I contacted a local-ish provider who says they can sell or rent an exchangeable food-grade tank (a 20.) I’ve seen some adapters on Amazon I think will work, though I’m a bit nervous about the rubbery taste I see some complain about.
So, can I do this mod with the AquaFizz?
Will I have to drill a hole or can I just keep a panel off?
Does a 10 fit on most countertops under cabinets, or am I better off finding a spot by the end of the counter and putting a 20 on the floor?

Hey Reddit, my ragdoll just got groomed the other day and his mane is already getting greasy and yellowed again.
Are all ragdolls like this or is there a way to help them keep the mane under there chin cleaner?

2021.12.03 01:39 EnchantingSproink Graduated 40+6 with induction, FTM
I wanted to post my experience before leaving this subreddit.
I scheduled my induction on 11/29, which is the first day of maternity leave (40+5) to maximize the amount of time I spend with baby because my leave is fairly short. I had prodromal labor for an entire week prior to induction. I was really hoping I would spontaneously go into labor but it never happened.
Monday morning rolls around, and we head to the hospital for my scheduled induction. I got there at 7:30 am. After getting settled into my hospital stay, my first cervical check was around 9 am. I was 0 cm dilated, 50% effaced, -2 station. It was pretty disappointing to hear, so I mentally prepared for a long labor given that I am a FTM too. We started with a dose of misoprostol that was inserted vaginally. It started working pretty quickly, and I was having mild contractions and cramping for the next 3 or so hours. My next cervical check was 4 hours later, and I made some progress with 1 cm dilated, 70% effaced, -2. My doctor decided to do one more dose of misoprostol. Depending on my next check, we would either do a Foley bulb (which I really didn’t want) with pitocin or just pitocin. The contractions and cramping ramped up notch with the second misoprostol but only lasted 2 hours this time. I was still able to get buy without pain relief but as thinking about it. Another 4 hours later around 5 pm, I was 3 cm dilated, 80% dilated, -1. I was making nice progression but still nowhere close to active labor. But because I was 3 cm, there was no need for the Foley bulb (yay!), so we went ahead and started pitocin around 6 pm or so.
The contractions were tolerable at first, but they were quickly getting stronger and stronger. Around 7:30 or 8, I asked for an epidural. My nurse wanted to give me extra fluids firs, so my blood pressure wouldn’t drop with the epidural. But in doing so, she delayed calling anesthesia for about 30 minutes, and I was really starting to struggle sitting still (you need to be able to sit still to get the epidural placed). Finally around 8:30-9 pm, my epidural gets placed. The process wasn’t bad at all. The most you feel is a bee sting like pin when they do the local lidocaine. Also, I was much more distracted by the contraction. Once the epidural kicked in, it was sweet sweet relief. I could still feel the pressure of the contractions but there was no pain! As I repositioned after the epidural, my water broke and I started having constant leaking through the rest of the night.
My next cervical check was after the epidural. I was 4.5 cm dilated, 80% effaced, can’t remember the station. Again, preparing for a long night and likely delivery the next morning. About 30 minutes later, I started noticing a sharp pressure-like pain in my left lower pelvis/hip. I thought maybe the epidural had shifted, so didn’t think much of it. Around the same time, my nurse and midwife ran into the room because baby’s heartbeat briefly dropped to the 60s but did come back up after a minute or so. They asked how I was doing and I mentioned the pelvic pain not thinking much of it. Well, turns out that pain was important because the midwife decided to check me again. Thirty minutes after the last check. And I was now 7 cm dilated, 90% effaced, 0 station!! I couldn’t believe it! I went from 4.5 cm to 7 cm in 30 minutes!! They figured it was probably baby passing through that part of my body causing pain in my left hip and her heart rate to dip down because of the compression from the contractions. They dialed back on pitocin since I progressed so quickly and baby didn’t like it. The midwife said she’d come back and check me again in an hour. Well, an hour passes and she’s busy with another patient who was pushing. Meanwhile, my pain in that left hip was ramping up to the point where the epidural was not helping and I started to get nauseous. I let my nurse know I was not feeling well at all. She let the midwife know but the midwife was still helping the other patient. At this point, my nurse checked me herself and I was fully dilated and ready to push. We started with some practice pushes when the midwife came in. She confirmed I was fully dilated and said we’re ready to start pushing. She wanted to see if the pain would improve with pushing as baby is moved further down before calling anesthesia. The pain did improve! However, baby’s heart rate started dropping again with pushing and took time to come back up despite repositioning multiple times. At this point, the OB came in. We pushed/paused for some time and got to the point where her hair was peeking through at the end of a push but her heart rate was still dropping. There was discussion of possible vacuum or even C-section if baby couldn’t continue tolerating labor. The scalp monitor was finally placed to get a better idea of what baby’s heart was doing, and baby was finally able to maintain a good heart rate to keep pushing.
I don’t remember how many more pushes but baby girl finally came out at 2:10 am on 11/30 grasping into her umbilical cord with her hand which explained why her heart rate kept dropping! It was about an hour from starting to push to delivery. All in all, labor was from 9am Monday morning to 2am early Tuesday morning. Not too bad consider my cervix was completely closed at the start!
I had a pretty nasty grade 2 perineal tear that took a lot of sutures to repair because it just kind of exploded in all directions (RIP to my perineum 😭). I kind wish they did an episiotomy but it is what it is now, and the OB re-assured me she was able to suture everything back into its place. I also had a lot of swelling which caused a lot of oozing, so they had to place packing, which stung like hell when they pulled it out the next morning. All in all, my graduation story was fairly positive and I’m pretty amazed my body did what it did. And of course the greatest gift of all is finally getting to be with my baby girl.
Recovery is tough and things are very very sore (my muscles from all the pushing, my uterus, and of course my perineum). I’m doing my best to rest, keep up with round the clock Tylenol/ibuprofen, ice/heat packs, peri-bottle, Tucks pads, etc. Sleep deprivation is real so remember to take care of yourself. Otherwise, we absolutely adore and love our baby girl, and I would it all over again for her.
